URGENT – Elevator out of Service October 18-19

We’ve just learned from KONE that the Elevator will need to be shut down until tomorrow.  Their service staff have been there most of the day again today. A new control board is being flown in from out of town, repairs will be continuing yet today and again tomorrow until resolved.

The goal is to have the elevator operational by end of day tomorrow 10/19/16.

KONE is posting notices on the elevator doors at each floor so all residents will know, but please forward to your renters also so they know ahead of getting home.

We are sorry for this inconvenience – thank you for your continued patience while KONE Elevator Co. resolves this.

10/18/16 – Message from John Rader:
The elevators have been acting up in the last two weeks, and on occasion prior to that. KONE Elevator Co. is on contract with the Association to maintain and service the elevator at SANE. They have been out almost daily during the last two weeks to work on the elevator, replacing many computer controls and other parts, as well as making adjustments. We keep getting updates from KONE that the elevator is fixed, but unfortunately these service appointments have not remedied all problems, and the elevator is still acting up, including going to the wrong floor, doors opening and closing repeatedly at floors, etc. There have been occasions where passengers in the elevator have been temporarily delayed in the elevator.  Two Important items to remember:  1 – please use the callbox in the elevator to phone KONE directly with any emergency needs in the elevator. 2 – try pressing the different floor buttons and the door open button to see if this corrects the problems.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused all residents in the building recently.  KONE is continuing to work on the elevator and does convey that it is safe to use at this time.  We will send further updates when we know more.
